ABOUT THE MAKER

Hi, I'm Sam

Hi, I’m Sam, the artist and designer behind The Acorn Craft Studio. I’ve spent over 20 years in the creative world as a graphic designer, art director, educator, and former copywriter for corporate events, and I started this pop-up studio as a way to bring more joy, connection, and hands-on creativity into everyday life.

A few years ago, I went to some social meetups where there was a small craft to work on. I felt more relaxed than usual. No awkward pauses, no pressure to keep a conversation going. I just spent time making something with my hands and getting to know people naturally.

That’s what led me to start The Acorn Craft Studio. It's a chance to host low-pressure craft nights where no one feels intimidated and no one is there to impress anyone. Just people being themselves and making something together.

Before launching the pop-up studio, I spent years crafting experiences for organizations, brands, and community groups, and that background now shapes the thoughtful, easygoing workshops I host today.

When I’m not running craft nights, you’ll find me designing for local nonprofits and government, teaching design, or training my dog to do some new tricks. Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to craft with you.
